Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old.
They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family.
The Exmouth & Budleigh Salterton Explorer Scout Unit was formed in September 2002.
Since it's formation the Unit has gone from strength to strength.
A regular crowd of Young Men and Women meet on Monday evenings and get involved in many activities ranging from weekends away with Explorers from other parts of the UK, to building and running Assault Courses for the local Scout and Cub Sections.
What ExBud Explorers get up to
In 2009 ExBud Explorers are once again off on their Annual Summer Jaunt, this time to Namibia where they shall be volunteering at a local school! In previous years they have visited Scotland in 2008, France in 2007 and 2004, Ireland in 2006 and Jersey in 2005.
In addition to going on their own camps, the ExBud Explorer Unit helps out at the Annual District Scout Camps of Woodjam and Dewerstone
